Greatest Rescue of All Time

On February 18, 1952, a massive storm split the SS Pendleton into two pieces about ten miles off the Massachusetts coast. More than forty sailors were trapped inside the ship's sinking stern in the midst of fierce winds and violent thirty foot waves.

In 1952 a massive storm broke a tanker in half and stranded sailors on a sinking ship off the Massachusetts coast.  Four Coast Guard men, in a life boat, in a raging storm, rescued over 40 men. It is one of the greatest rescues in the history of the U.S. Coast Guard.  In Luke 19:10, Jesus declared His own rescue mission: "The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." This coming Easter Week, Christians will celebrate the Crucifixion and Resurrection, as the ultimate expression of rescue, as Jesus took on Himself our sins and restored to the Father all who trust in Him. When Jesus returns he will come to judge the world, and punish those who reject his rescue.

Progressive liberal theologians reject the Biblical concept of coming judgment.  They claim just the opposite, that the world is getting better. They believe a God without wrath, will bring men without sin, into a kingdom without judgment, through a Christ without a cross.  Liberal theologians inevitably turn to collectivism and the welfare state. Christian socialism, the social gospel, and liberation theology have all been championed by progressives.

Progressives often use man caused global warming as an attack on free enterprise and capitalism. However, Dr. Michael Mann's infamous hockey stick graph showing increased warming, ignores the Medieval warm period and the Little Ice Age. The 1990's were not the warmest period. Elephants and tigers roamed tropical jungles north of the Siberian Artic in past periods. CO2 is only a trace element in the atmosphere.  The majority of CO2 is produced by natural sources such as volcanoes, and release of CO2 from oceans. Man only produces 3%. CO2 levels track global warming, which is caused by sun activity, clouds and ocean currents. Progressives such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Beto O'Rourke should spend less time talking about the dangers of climate change and more about coming judgment from God.
